Hand Quilting for the Soul
This relaxed hand sewing group meets twice a month at the Lakeview Library. The $10 materials charge covers all 10 weeks of the program so you may use the class supplies and fabric in our projects.
Lakeview Library Hand Quilting for the Soul
Tuesdays 1:30-3pm
4/20- UFO Show n Tell. Bring any stalled or unfinished project and we can figure out how to finish it together.
5/4 &18- English Paper Piecing. Come work with hexagons of all sizes! We will make lavender sachets or large pin cushions, your choice.
6/1 &15- Appliqué . Broderie Perse- we will cut out motifs from patterned fabric and apply them to background blocks. Bring in your favorite novelty prints or use materials provided.
7/6 &20- Echo Quilting. Practice this meditative pattern that looks like ripples on water. You can try with thin quilting thread or perle cotton.
8/3 & 17- Appliqué. Reverse needleturn appliqué with 2 fabrics. Turn line drawings into beautiful fabric panels- suitable to use as a wall hanging or can be enlarged for a quilt.
9/7- Show n Tell. Bring in any of the projects you have completed lately to share with the group.
The Hand Quilting for the Soul group meets the first and third Thursdays from 1:30-3pm. All materials are provided but you are welcome to bring your own projects to stitch. A “share table” will be set up to discard any unwanted fabric or sewing supplies. Your ufo could be someone’s next masterpiece! Please bring home anything remaining at 3pm.
Come stitch and laugh with us and set down your worries for a while.
