DESCRIPTION:Quilting Class: English Paper Piecing\n\n\n \nFridays: August 4\, 11\, 18\, 25\, & September 1\, 8\, 15\, 22 \nThis is a beginner friendly quilting class. The patchwork technique of English Paper Piecing is done by hand; no sewing machine required. Learn a few simple stitches and watch the patterns come together as we stitch through the summer. Students will work through techniques from Jessica’s book\, Quilting on the Go\, completing a laptop/tablet sleeve. A supply list will be emailed prior to class. \nAlthough we will follow the Laptop sleeve pattern from Quilting on the Go\, experienced quilters may choose any EPP design for their project top.  We will play with graph paper\, colored pencils\, and all sorts of shapes throughout the 8 week program.

We will make lavender sachets or large pin cushions\, your choice.\n6/1 &15- Appliqué . Broderie Perse- we will cut out motifs from patterned fabric and apply them to background blocks. Bring in your favorite novelty prints or use materials provided.\n7/6 &20- Echo Quilting. Practice this meditative pattern that looks like ripples on water. You can try with thin quilting thread or perle cotton.\n8/3 & 17- Appliqué. Reverse needleturn appliqué with 2 fabrics.  Turn line drawings into beautiful fabric panels- suitable to use as a wall hanging or can be enlarged for a quilt.\n9/7- Show n Tell. Bring in any of the projects you have completed lately to share with the group.\n \nThe Hand Quilting for the Soul group meets the first and third Thursdays from 1:30-3pm.
