Sea Cliff Village Museum Tea Party
Recently, a student tipped me off to the wonderful hidden gem in Nassau –the Sea Cliff Village Museum! This summer, the Museum is displaying their quilt and textile art collection, including a handful of amazing vintage treasures.
Courtney, the museum director, and I thought it would be nice to gather some folks for a tea party of sorts, where we will study and attempt to stitch some of the patterns of the quilts on display. Please join us!
In April, we will look at a fragile 60 degree diamond quilt made from 2″ diamonds, too delicate to come out of its case, and a meticulous blue and white Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt from 1″ hexagons. We will try to recreate these blocks over 2 weeks; I will provide all the fabrics and materials, but bring your reading glasses and hand sewing supplies if you already quilt.
The museum is small, so space is limited. Please click here to register.
Tuesdays, April 22 & 29, 12-2pm
