This class is designed to teach the quilt making skills necessary to recreate quilts and quilt block patterns from the Underground Railroad. This is foremost a discussion group– we will look at fiction and non fiction books, quilting pattern and history books, movies, and online resources. Each week, a quilting skill will be taught and connected to one or more blocks from Hidden in Plain View (Tobin, 2000), and Underground Railroad Sampler (Burns and Bouchard, 2003), among others. Please bring your favorite resources, your fabric scissors, and a friend and join us on Tuesdays.
